Trying to keep warm Sabi-style

We're thinking that when we replace the upstairs carpet that we'll get bamboo floors. I love bamboo. Sorry about the rain --- send some of it our way. .. :)
Oooooo! I like your sketch-book idea! That sounds so lovely. You could fill it with your paintings and sketches and poems - what a treasure.
I wish I had some suggestion for you for some fascinating direction - I'm plum all out over here. I think it's the weather.

I would be interested in your groups here.
Cheers to your day - stay cozy. (weird to say in June)
Thou hast spring fever. I have it too. I have been dragging loads of clothes to the charity shop. Damnit, if I have not worn it in the past two weeks, it goes (in season). Attacking the kitchen stuff as well. Have fun! It is good to unload.

Make sure you give us a review if you ever do that - I'd be curious to know if it's as good as its reputation. We saw some bamboo cutting boards that we want.

2 weeks - you are hardcore. I usually squirrel it away for a year. But only clothing and paintings - everything else is disposeable. I'm hoping to go seriously minimal so I can travel more like you guys.

Summer Solstice will be very wet. I have spring fever big time.

Thank you!! I'm glad you can appreciate my vision. It's nice to have an idea and have someone else's opinion, otherwise I usually think "well that's a dumb idea, Ellie..." LOL

What the heck kind of weather is this anyway....I feel cheated. Shessh I'm still wearing my winter pajamas!

Me too! And I had to put thermals on this morning just to run errands. o_O
I guess it isn't officially summer until this weekend, but still. All of the other seasons jump the gun and get started early. I dunno what the Oak King is up to... I think he's on vacation and he has been laaaazy.
Oh, and I don't think any creative idea is a dumb idea. ;)
We have just carted clothes and shoes to Martha's Table (charity) and given away "stuff" we are never going to use. Moving from Australia to here meant a pretty radical clean out of "things". I do like to collect at least one piece from each trip I go on. I look at my shelves and see these pieces and they take me back to where-ever. It's a nice trip in my mind.
I agree with your group(s) names! Did u read about the Obama's fly and PETA once again in the news?

Thanks - and yes Happy rainy, wet cold Solstice. I can't even put my fleece into storage yet. Horray!! :P

LOL I'm not complaining, it's actually really sweet to hear the rain patter on the rooftop with the cardinals loudly cheering outside my window.

Oh, lovely! You guys have the best trips too. Yes I love the rocks and ocean books I collect when we go to the shore - I can just picture the sand and sun.

Thank you, KermieLadie! ;)

Ahaaa yes that was funny and so typical of PETA - they will pounce on any opportunity for attention. When I tell people that PETA drives me nuts, people say, "oh yes can you believe they want us to care about a fly"?

I tell people, in fact yes I think having compassion for flies is a wonderful thing. I was taught by my favorite Buddhist teacher that monks sweep away flies rather than killing them. It's just PETA's mean spiritied and sexist, screechy campaigns that I don't agree with.

What did you think of it?

Hi Ellie

I think you should just go crazy sketching and writing, and a new site or two in the betterment of our environment, our heath and our animal friends is always welcome.

The more good sites the better, there will never be too many.

Ellie you are doing a wonderful job, I am very impressed and proud of you too.

Love your site.

Love

Holly

You will travel, now that you are done with grad school! Wahoo!
I got buzzed by a swift this morning. I was half asleep. It was cool. I could hear the wings flapping. I thought of you.

I appreciate the support, Holly. I will need your input if I do!

How's the pond?

It will be amazing - Just 2 more days of fieldwork and the writeup of my thesis. I should get your opinion where's the best place to celebrate. We can't do exotic islands just yet (we have to save a bit more, maybe by winter) so the choices are: Toronto, the Carolinas? U.K.?

How cool about the swift - that must be a really good omen of sorts!

Hi Ellie,

The pond is healthy and doing very well. Its fed by an underground spring. No on the ground streams lead to it.

Everything so is luch and green with all the rain we have had this spring.

We live so close to the river we see the water birds visiting the pond.

You keep up your good work Ellie, you make this world a better place.

Thanks for your great kindness to me and our earth.

Love you,

Holly

ps

I have to bring this to your attention,

I'm hearing ya....I'd love to start over on the decor too...but wish someone could just make it all nice for me so I didn't have to shop or work on any of it. Of course some major bucks to buy new furniture would be great too.
PETA was making a big deal out of a little fly.
btw, PETA will find ways to exploit, sorry have to use such word, to express their messages for their love for animals. Poor humans.
